About

The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program is a $500 million initiative through which the Foundation, with its partners, is inspiring young people - particularly from Africa - to lead change through education.

The Foundation has committed $500 million over 10 years to an expanding network of education institutions and non-profit organizations that believe education is a catalyst for social and economic progress. The network includes: African Leadership Academy, American University of Beirut – Faculty of Health Sciences, Arizona State University, Ashesi University, Duke University, EARTH University, Michigan State University, Stanford University, University of California at Berkeley, and Wellesley College.

These partners are educating and providing holistic support to deserving young people who are committed to giving back. Students enrolled in the Scholars Program receive comprehensive scholarships, mentoring, leadership development, and life skills support as they transition to secondary school, university or the workforce.

The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program will serve an estimated 15,000 young people at the secondary and university levels.
